Moving away from home can be one of the biggest steps in student life, but at dBs Institute, our mission is to make your start in higher education as easy and enjoyable as possible.
With campuses in Plymouth, Bristol and Manchester, you’ll be relocating to some of the most diverse, creative and exciting cities the UK has to offer.
We don’t have any accommodation on campus, but below you’ll find our extensive accommodation guides highlighting the student halls, letting agencies and shared accommodation groups available at each of our locations.
We would recommend exploring accommodation options well in advance of accepting our offer to study with us and to begin securing accommodation as soon as your place at dBs Institute is confirmed.
Accommodation in the cities we are located in is competitive, so accepting your offer earlier will give you a longer timeframe to explore options and secure housing.
The cost of accommodation for students varies from city to city. However, across the UK, the average monthly cost of student accommodation in 2024 is £622.91. In the private sector, the average monthly cost of rent in the UK is £1,223.
Depending on whether you are living alone in a studio apartment or in a shared house with other students, the cost of your accommodation will vary. Generally, it is always cheaper to split your rent and bills with others in a shared house, but this is not always possible. It’s important to explore all of the options available to you in the city you will be studying in before making a decision.
If you're looking for accommodation during your studies at dBs Institute, the best place to start is with our official accommodation partners Hybr and Amber. Hybr works exclusively with private landlords to get you the most appropriate accommodation and they will work with you one-on-one to find you the best option. Amber allows you to search and filter for the best student halls in the city where you're studying and gives you guidance throughout the process.
You can also apply for accommodation directly through external student hall providers, but spaces often get filled quickly so make sure to apply for a room as early as possible!
If you are looking to find private housing outside of Hybr or Amber, apps like Zoopla and Rightmove are great places to start. We recommend setting up alerts that are filtered by your budget and desired location so that you’ll be one of the first to know when a new property becomes available.
You can find more information in our Accommodation Guides above.
