What did you do before joining dBs?
I worked at South Devon College as a lecturer in music business and was a music producer working with local artists and international companies to licence music.
Why did you first get into producing music?
My friend had produced an album with his brother -this was in 2001! I was impressed and wanted to know how they had accomplished it… Many hours spent working with them led me to becoming a producer in my own right.
Any special areas of interest?
New York rap music from the early 90s and ancient Japenese culture. I also love watching the NBA any chance I get.
What do you love most about what you do?
I love seeing the development of learners becoming professionals and refining their craft. Seeing their success in the world is incredibly fulfilling, knowing the role we as an organisation play in that success.
Tell us about your proudest career moment?
Becoming Head of Centre for dBs Institute in Plymouth, leading a group of professionals who I admire and hold in high regards to achieve ‘success’.
What do you get up to outside of your role at dBs?
I work with international and UK artists, release instrumental projects and merchandise, watch a lot of NBA and love good food.
Tell us something our students may not know about you?
I have learnt web design and once coded a highly complex quoting system for a haulage/transport company. I’d also love to be involved in making a major movie, having learnt to film and edit music videos over the past 10+ years.
